My amazing cousin made these birth announcements for Baby Mac. I am so in love with them. She made a couple different ones for us to choose from and it was a difficult choice, but I am super happy with how she made them. If you need anything designed check out her Etsy shop HERE.
I didn't have enough printed off to send to everyone, so I need to go get more printed, but in the meantime, wait by your mailbox because it should be coming soon!
And send me an email with your address if you don't think I have yours.

when Zach and Madeline were in town they stayed one night at the Arizona grand hotel. it has a really fun water park that we all went to after the girls got out of school. it was cloudy do basically we had the park to ourselves!
i think the girls favorite part was the golf cart ride from the lobby to the pools. They kept asking to go back on the golf cart.
mac and mommy's favorite part was the cuddle time with no work for mom.
sorry for not posting this week, it was my first week back full time and on call. yikes.sorry I haven't posted this week... first week back full time and on call

to realize how much I love good food. rich and I had never been to this restaurant but we heard great reviews so wet decided to go. the view is amazing and the best part is that they give you cotton candy at the end of dinner!
did I mention the slide, live music, cow, and fry bread too?

Cara started her second year of preschool yesterday.
She has been looking forward to this since the last day of preschool in May.
She picked out her own outfit and put on her giant backpack (which had 1 paper inside that she brought home with her).
Here she is with the fabulous Miss Teddie.
Yesterday we had a good day report.
Cara made me include this picture because it shows the sparkles that her backpack makes! Ooh lala

I think it is safe to say we officially have a reader in our house!
My cute Ryann checked out these awesome books from the library and she just breezes through them all. It is so much fun to watch her learn and grow every day!
THIS is one of my favorites.
Mo Willems is awesome. I think I should start collecting these books.
I think there are 18 of them.
I may have mentioned that Mac only slightly tolerates his daddy. Well, that won't really cut it around here since mommy has such a crazy job and schedule. With this in mind I have been making Rich "practice" getting Mac to sleep, soothing him, and giving him bottles. I start back on call next week on the 19th (YIKES!) so we need to step up the game on how SuperMac can be comforted by both mommy and daddy. Obviously here is the man in action and I must say he is doing quite a fine job. Tonight was record time in getting him to sleep.
We also went to church today and Mac did GREAT! We are going to be blessing him on the 1st of September and everyone is invited. Let me know if you need an address or directions.

Here is my attempt at a one month photo shoot.
Basically the poor guy looked like a deer in headlights, but I still think he is pretty cute.
His zero to 6 month size hat, I am assuming he will fit into it long after he is out of this little outfit.
Here is a nice shot of his thinning hair on the top. (looking more and more like daddy!)

You started losing your hair on top.
You have started with the cutest little gas smiles.
You have started to coo.
The girls love you more and more each day.
You hate going to bed at night, but will go to bed fine for naps during the day.
You have given me some 4 hour stretches at night. Thanks!

I hope the newness and excitement of a little brother doesn't go away anytime soon.
I think Auntie Erin taught the girls this trick.
I do believe this little guy loves his sisters. So far he is very patient with them.
We also started to see lots of little gas smiles now!!

This girl couldn't have been more excited for first grade. She picked out her clothes the night before and was dressed and ready to go before anyone else was awake.
She was excited that we all took her to the bus stop.
Baby Mac wasn't so sure about having 3 people push him in the stroller, but he survived.

A couple weeks ago we had a nice little monsoon sweep through the area. We let the girls go outside and play but the puddles didn't last very long. After spending about 30 minutes out there everything was dry. The girls did come into the house and ask if daddy could take some pictures. Of course I made him.
I love this progression of pictures. It is how Cara goes from happy and laughing to grumpy in 3 seconds.
I can't quite figure out how to get her to be in a better mood throughout the day (besides giving her everything she wants), and I think it is sleep related. She always wakes up between 545 and 630, but if I give her a nap then she doesn't go to bed until around 930 and still wakes up at her normal time. If I don't give her a nap she falls asleep right away but definitely acts like she needs a nap come 2 or 3pm. Maybe a nap every other day?
The face above is the face she makes when we tell her to be quiet or to stop crying or to stop doing whatever she is doing that is naughty.
I just realized they were wearing the exact same outfits as the previous post. Funny because they were taken a couple weeks apart. Love my girls!

This blog has sort of been dedicated to Baby Mac lately, but I want to touch on what the girls and I have been doing lately. Every night at bedtime I have started to tell them the summary of each Harry Potter book. I try to break it up into 3 days or so to tell the story.
On Thursday we watched the first Harry Potter and it was fun, but Ryann thought that Voldemort was scary, so I don't know if we will watch any of the other movies. But they sure like listening to me tell the stories.
Then on Friday the girls said they wanted to make a cake. So we baked a cake then ran some errands and when we got back I made some frosting. Somehow the girls convinced me that they should be able to frost their own cakes. We were going to bring them to a friend's house to share, but after they finished frosting that wasn't going to happen.
We had lots of fun, and I ate some of the cakes too. We did end up throwing a lot of cake away, it was pretty soggy.
