6 flags

About a month ago Devyn and I took the kids to 6 flags. It was hot and the kids got tired quick, but we had a blast for those 3+ hours. I have season passes and we get people in free so thankfully we didn't have to stay all day to make it worth it. 

Mac was actually quite obsessed with roller coasters. 

Thanks to auntie Devyn- without her we might have been home after we got off the shuttle. 

4th of July parade

While rich continued to recover from surgery he missed out on some fun stuff- like Ryann and Cara being in the Napa parade for the 4th of July. They loved throwing candy. 

Happy birthday dean

I didn't get any pictures of the kids on the water slides because I was afraid my phone would get wet!! But of course they had a blast. 

There was a huge water slide, slip n slides, play pools, and all the cake you could eat. I only got these pictures of the cake and Mae playing with baby Shelby. 

Summer visitors

We are having so much fun with our cousins hazel and Mitchell in town!! 

Baby photo shoot

This baby photo shoot was a lot of laughing and crazy moms trying to get the perfect shot. I think we got quite a few that described their personalities.

Personal best award

Cara and Addie both received personal best awards today!  I love their little school and how they celebrate these amazing young kids. So proud of them. 

Cousins and karate

Yesterday Ethan got his brown belt! All the napa cousins (except Mac) were there to watch and it was so awesome to see. What a great kid he is. 

Busy Saturday

I didn't get many pictures from the busy Saturday we had yesterday, but I snapped these two gems at the pool with Cory and Katie and ashley. 

Mac actually went willingly into he water and enjoyed it!!! Breakthroughs people. 

Milk sharing

Weighty issues. 😂 Shelby has been gaining an ounce a day thankfully so no more weight checks until 2 months. In the meantime though Shelby for a package from her cousin Everly. 100+ounces of milk! (Actually from Madeline... But Everly said it was okay to share her milk)

Thankfully I haven't had to use it, because every time we try we can't get Shelby to take a bottle. Thankfully auntie Devyn just sent a bunch of bottles for us to try. It really takes a village, right?

In the meantime we are waiting to hear back on a rental house in Napa. We were approved for one but there is a pool and we really don't want a pool since there isn't a fence. So we will hold out a couple more days and cross our fingers that we are approved for the one we really want b

Green pool time

Today the kids got to experience their first time swimming in a green pool!  Despite the appearance they had a blast. 

Omaha zoo

For a little boy who loves trains so much, a real live one sure scared him during our zoo trip. 

He tabbed his blanket, covered his head and was scared. Finally he lowered the blanket so he could at least watch it from a distance.  

We did find that his favorite animal is a giraffe. Really because there is a giraffe in a Thomas the train episode. 

But he was all smiles when we saw the giraffe. Hazel came with us to the zoo and Mitchell was home sleeping with Devyn. Hazel is so cute and wears 2 to 3 different princess dresses a day. Everywhere we went people comment on how cute she is. It is adorable. 

After about 2 hours i was done and went back to devyns to make it to my flight to come home. (Which ended up being delayed 4 hours!!)

Cousins

These cute boys were not cooperating to let me get a good picture. Good thing that they are so cute. 

Don't forget

I don't want to forget fun relaxing days like these! 

Catching lizards, swinging on the rope swing, and eating the last of the cherries off the tree. 

Well, there would have been a lot more for us to eat, but the squirrels and the crows beat us to the punch. 

Sunday fun day

On Sunday I watched dean and Vince. They came to church with us and they were amazing. 

Mac helped feed Vince. 

We played peek a boo. 

I got Vince to fell asleep. 

And I was rewarded handsomely! Homemade ice cream!!! Amazing. 

Fruit of our labors

Here are some radishes that the kids picked from the garden and tried to eat. Addie liked hers but the other kids thought they were disgusting. 

They sure looked cute and were excited to try them though. 

Butterfly release

Ryann got a butterfly kit from auntie ashley for her birthday. They started as caterpillars for a week, then cocoons for a week or spans then butterflies for a week. It was gross to me but awesome to the kids. 

On release into the wild day ryann wanted to do it at school. She brought them to the playground after school and had quite the gathering of people. 

She named them all and it turned out to be auch a magical birthday gift.

St Patrick's day

I rarely pass up a good excuse to get the family together for a party. Today was no different. Katie made some amazing corn beef and cabbage and I made some awesome punch. But really the kids ate a ton, grandma and grandpa great were there, and Ashley's fancy dessert pudding was delicious. 

There was bubbles and baths, green plates and dishes from grandma great, and a lot of sneaking of treats brought by the leprechaun. 

No silly string fights, but Ethan had to leave early for the pinewood derby so we figured we would save that for later. 

Weekend getaway

We were quite exhausted after the quick getaway but we were happy to do it!

This was a 4 day weekend so we hopped in the car and drove to rich's cousins in the mountains. It was a blast and the kids had so much fun getting dirty and playing.
