Pumpkin patch take 1

We took our first trip to the pumpkin patch today. It was a success and we even left without a pumpkin!

6 mile bike ride

We went on a 6 mile bike ride a couple days ago. Cara enjoys being towed and she doesn't want to learn to ride a bike without training wheels yet, so she got a ride, but we had fun. Mac was asleep at home with the grandparents, so he missed out.

Towards the end of the ride Ryann was getting tired but she had a little burst of energy at the end. She told me, "mom, you know how I made it all the way home? I pretended you were a unicorn and I was trying to catch you."

Ummmm, awesome.
Whatever works my little big girl.

Animals

This morning we headed over to our cousin's house to take care of their animals. Highlight of the day for these kiddos. I also posted a video on instagram... Mac squealed every time a goat came close to him. Pretty cute.

What's happening

This is probably my favorite thing to do when I visit with my family. Well, getting my hair done, eating a lot, date nights, card games, watching cousins play together, and about a hundred other things... but you get my point. I love it here!

Road Trip

I am not sure who takes their 2 week old on a 12+ hour road trip?
I guess we do. In my defense it is stinking hot in Arizona and I am not going to be able to take any time off for probably the rest of the year! We also split the trip into 2 days to make it tolerable.

We talked about going to California on Saturday. I didn't feel good about leaving on Sunday for some reason, but then on Monday I felt like it was a great idea. We packed Monday morning and headed out Monday afternoon.
We told Cara to bring a box of toys and she seriously brought like 3 stuffed animals is all. Nothing to color, or anything else to play with. Thankfully we had the DVD player.  Ryann on the otherhand is a little better at packing for herself and she brought a lot of things to entertain her. Especially since she was in the way back seat and we couldn't interact much with her.
Baby Mac did pretty well. I sat between him and Cara for part of the trip. I would pump and feed him a bottle (which he did excellent with) or I would nurse him when we made a stop for food or gas.
This stellar man drove the whole way and I even got a couple naps because of his quick thinking to bring a pillow for me!
Cara obviously didn't need a pillow. Wow. Not sure how that is comfortable, but whatever. I think we need to invest in some neck pillows for these kiddos.

Where to Start

When the girls and I got into Napa we went straight to my parents house and fell asleep. Then my family showed up so I let them wake us all up and we played for awhile. Then we went back to sleep.
Then the girls woke up at 6.
Everyone else was dead asleep. So the girls and I showered/bathed, got dressed did our hair, put on some "makeup", watched 3 episodes of my little ponies and then FINALLY Devyn and Hazel (the birthday girl!) woke up.
So we headed out to our favorite Napa breakfast spot.
Buttercream Bakery!
 Cara eating sugar of course.
 Ryann being good like usual.
Sweet baby Hazel and her 1st maple bar!!
On her first birthday! What a way to celebrate.

The girls then wanted a picture with the baker Santa. I obliged since I was camera happy already.
