Siesta time

Here are some cute pictures of miss Shelby while we were in Chicago. She had her first pedicure and took a couple siestas.

Wedding Dress Shopping

While we were in California we went wedding dress shopping for my sister Erin.
(She is the one sitting next to me on the couch.)
We had so much fun and no boys were allowed... except Mac.
He did really well in the city and was a happy baby. He was the happiest when we found Erin's dress!  Wahoo... spoiler... it isn't the one behind us with the crazy ruffle below the boobs.

It was sad that we were missing my older sister Ashley, but she was there in spirit. Also not pictured was my mom, but we sure had fun with her too.

Actually I hate this picture, but it was the only one I could find that documented our day.

Baby Bullet

Auntie Erin bought us the Baby Bullet for my baby shower for Mac. Since my milk supply is going down I figured now was a good as time as ever to start feeding him solids.
And he loved it! I made bananas for his first week, and I froze some avocado for his second week. So far it seems to be pretty cheap and easy, so hopefully we will be able to keep up the momentum and make all of his baby food.

Happy Birthday Auntie Devyn and Auntie Erin

I have some of the best sisters in the world.
These sisters just happen to have birthdays about a week apart.
These sisters are some of the hardest working people I know (along with my other sisters!)
They make me laugh.
They make me cry.
(in good ways!)
The love me and my family unconditionally.
They are gorgeous.
They are one year older.
Happy Birthday to my younger sisters!

Visitors

We have been blessed with some fun visitors.
Grandma loved matching you in her stripes.
Grandpa Cochran didn't think he could remember how to hold a newborn.
Grandma Great, or Gigi, remembered all right, here it looks like he is trying to smile at her!
Then we tried to get Cara to sit still for a picture, but that wasn't happening... come on, we got better pictures with a 3 day old than we did with a 4 year old.
Ryann was more than happy to sit with them though because Grandpa great likes to count your ribs to make sure they are all there.
Also Auntie Erin came to visit, but for some reason I don't have a good picture of them both today... but this is a pretty cute face Mac is constantly making.

Christmas Eve

We had a fabulous Christmas Eve, playing games, being silly, eating amazing food...

And an attempted re-enactment of the nativity. I think we need more babies/ grandkids to play these parts. We didn't even have any sheep!!

Christmas PJs and Uncle Zach

Zach spent some time with us over the vacation. Unfortunately he had to leave early to go propose... ugh.. i mean... YEAH! We are so happy for him and Aunt Madeline!  Yahoo!

Anyway, he sang us some lovely songs.
All of the cousins also got PJs from Auntie Erin and Uncle Pete. It was so fun to watch them all get so excited about these presents.

Cousin Dean wouldn't pose for the picture, but this was a pretty good shot- Ryann especially loved her horse shirt! Auntie Erin knows how to pick em.
One of the cutest things that Miss Addie does is say, "I look cute, right?"  or "I am smiling for the camera, right?" or "I am listening, right?" or "I am eating my dinner, right?"
So basically everything that I had to scold Cara for, Addie would chime in to remind me that she was doing it right when everyone else wasn't.  Not gonna lie, this is her mother's daughter. I do believe growing up Ashley was the super good kid... well, at least until her teenage years, right??

It cracked me up every time she did it. What a little smarty pants.

Matching

Thursday is sharing day for Cara at preschool. She really wanted to share her Daisy Duck that her cousin Addison gave to her for her birthday. Then she wanted to match daisy so she picked out a purple dress and we were so lucky that Auntie Erin sent us a package with a purple bow... JUST LIKE DAISY!
Seriously it couldn't have been more perfect.  Cara was over the moon!
She also wanted to share her kangaroo, but I think we will have to wait until next week.
Seriously though, right now Cara's mind is just exploding. She comes running into my room in the morning and she has written an A. She is starting to learn some of Ryann's sight words, she finally is recognizing letters (not numbers yet), but also starting to know their sounds. I don't feel like Ryann ever had this "explosion" of learning and recognition that Cara is having. I will chalk it up to one of two things.  First being the amazing preschool she is now in and/or Ryann just played her learning a little cool. She wasn't so loud or vocal about everything she could do like Cara is.

Best Package Ever

~disclaimer~ It has taken me a little while to post this, I didn't want to hurt Erin's feelings, but it is so funny and none of my girls are upset about what happened, so I figured I better blog about it before I forget about it.

Ryann and Cara got a package in the mail the other day. They were so excited to open it, but they know that they always have to wait for me because I like to take pictures and ooooh and aaaah with them.
Ryann pulls out an amazing pair of new "dancing shoes" as she calls them.
(sorry for the undies shot) and here Ryann is dancing away in her shoes, she was a little sad I wouldn't let her wear them to school yet. I told her they are fancy shoes for church, but we'll see how long that lasts.
Then Cara pulls out her shoes. The shipping label says they are "girls size 7"
Maybe they needed to say "big girls size 7" because those suckers are stinkin cute but definitely adult women size 7.
However, I just might wear them to work tomorrow.

Look at that smile Erin, in no way was Cara upset by this. She kept saying, What? These are too big" but after a little time she realized they were awesome, and then when Auntie Erin promised a new pair of shoes she was pleased as punch, because now she will have 2 new pairs of shoes... a big pair and a little pair.
