Black Friday shopping

wedid a little black Friday shopping this year. mostly without the kids, but we thought it would be fun to take them out for a little bit of fun too.

What's happening

This is probably my favorite thing to do when I visit with my family. Well, getting my hair done, eating a lot, date nights, card games, watching cousins play together, and about a hundred other things... but you get my point. I love it here!

Eyes

Mac has blue eyes, just  like the rest of us.
However, it appears that they look different with the color of shirt that he is wearing.
(Rich's eyes do the same thing!)
If you look close you can see his two bottom teeth.
 Just call him Dapper Dan.
And technically you could since his name is Daniel.
Look at these sweet kicks.

CARES Slip

Whenever Ryann comes home with one of these slips we do an extra special treat. This means she was caught being really good doing something. I think she has only had 2 this year.
We were pretty proud of her and how well she rides on the bus.

I Love Fall In Arizona

So does Mac!
I put him outside to play in his jumper and he was having the time of his life watching his toys and birds and feeling wind!

Baby Bullet

Auntie Erin bought us the Baby Bullet for my baby shower for Mac. Since my milk supply is going down I figured now was a good as time as ever to start feeding him solids.
And he loved it! I made bananas for his first week, and I froze some avocado for his second week. So far it seems to be pretty cheap and easy, so hopefully we will be able to keep up the momentum and make all of his baby food.

Cowboy Up

Yeah, this ALMOST happened at church on Sunday.
Rich got cold feet and switched to a tie and no hat.
Seriously, who would have ever thought Rich would not wear something crazy.
He might do it to get choir recruits.
Rich is the choir director for our ward and he is trying desperately to get more people out to choir for our Christmas program. It really will be amazing and he has put so much work, thoughts, and prayers into it. I can't wait to be there for it and support him and sing with the choir.

4 Months

Happy 4 month birthday Mac!
You are happy and still wake up at least 2 times a night.
You roll from tummy to back and the back to tummy.
You cut your first tooth yesterday!
(your older sisters didn't get teeth until they were 6 months)
You still nurse and take the bottle well. You drink anywhere from 4-6 ounces each feeding.
You mostly sleep in your crib unless I am exhausted and then I will have you sleep with me for a couple hours.
Your sisters adore you and fight over who gets to "babysit" you or watch you while mom is getting ready for the day.
You have an awesome belly laugh.
You spit up so much less now that I am cutting out most dairy from my diet.

You weigh 15lbs.
You prefer being held over anything else but Miss Mary (your new sitter) is trying to break that little habit. You are liking to "play" more and more each day.
What a wild ride it has been and we love you more and more each day. Thank you for bringing such joy into our lives. We love you baby Mac.

5am Wake Up

I used to be a fan of waking up in the 5am hour. I would get up before everyone else and go hiking. Spend time outdoors and exercising. Amazing.
However, with being on call and a baby still getting up 3 times a night I am not a fan of the 5am hour.
At 5am if Cara wakes up we have to put her in our bed or else she will go wake up Ryann for the day.
Here is proof:
Cara woke up because she heard me feeding Mac. So then she tried to come into bed with me, but I knew that she wiggles and squirms so much in bed that if I let her come in bed Rich would be awake and angry... plus I wouldn't get anymore sleep for the night.

So this day I decided to make Cara go back to her own bed, and an hour later when I woke up at 6, this is what I found. A nice little fort, curtains being pulled down, and by 6pm both these girls were cranky.

Was it worth it? The jury is still out. I thought it was worth it at the time to let me sleep, but their grumpy attitudes make life tough.

TRICK or Treat

Whenever we stumbled across decorations while we were trick or treating the girls made me take a picture with them.
Then we stopped by some friends' house and we played tricks on each other with this neat screwdriver headband.

Finally the girls got to pass out candy at their house. Ryann and Cara kept careful watch waiting for the kids to come to the door.
