Grandpa and grandma great

Mac and I are lucky enough to be in California for a couple days so we got to visit with grandma and grandpa great.

Morning walks

Somehow Cara always ends up in the stroller with Mac by the end of the walk. At least this time she started out walking herself. But Mac still loves every second of his big sister time. Even if she gets into the stroller with him.
(I can't take a picture of them in there together... a little dangerous!)

When I grow up...

Ryann wants to be a mom when she grows up, because apparently it is not that much work.

Geez I love this little sweet girl I have been blessed to raise.

(Plus I am saving this for when she calls me in 20 years with a newborn.)

Meet Rue

Meet Rue, the newest member of our family. She has a "real" dog collar from auntie Madeline and uncle Zach with tags that say "if lost please call Ryann"

She hasn't gone potty in the house yet, she hardly barks, she did get a paw dirty from riding the scooter with Ryann, and she did get in trouble for sitting on the dinner table last night.

I think overall she is a very cute and welcomed addition to our household. Plus Ryann is over the moon.

Thanks for the sweet gift!

Two of a kind

These guys love each other. It always surprises me what Mac will put up with, ie Cara always dragging him around the house.

Dentist Trip

So far these girls are cavity free!
Cara was reprimanded for eating during the middle of the night and not brushing her teeth afterwards...also her parents need to help her brush... but the cute little stubborn thing doesn't let us. Sorry uncle Jason!

True love

Happy 7th birthday

My big girl Ryann turned 7 and what a day she had! She started with cinnamon rolls for breakfast in bed, wearing her beautiful new dress from grandma, a special birthday rainbow loom bracelet, a new necklace, lunch with daddy, watching movies after school, build a bear with Cara, spaghetti dinner and cake with the bakers, and opening presents. Whew.
She had so many phone calls, love from the family, and just a special day overall.
I love you Ryann!
7 things about Ryann:
1. She has such a kind heart and is always trying to make people happy.
2. Loves horses, unicorns, rainbows, and puppies
3. Learning to read and getting much better at it.
4. Has 6 articles of faith memorized
5. Rides a 2 wheel bike and a scooter with no problems
6. Has lost 2 teeth
7. She can identify almost any instrumental music from a movie with what movie it is and what scene it comes from

Gilbert temple

Our family was able to go this week to tour the Gilbert, Arizona temple. It had been open to the public for the past few weeks and we were able to take the girls and see how gorgeous it is inside.
We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back.
We went with Grandma Mingo, Auntie Vicki, and some friends.

7 Months

All of my onesies were dirty for baby Mac today, so I figured in true boy style, just stick him in the rocker for his picture in a diaper.
At 7 months he didn't last very long.
This boy moves. Seriously moves.
There is no way we will be able to take pictures in this thing again. I had to rescue him from halfway falling out more than 3 times. A little too scary for me.
He is 90% for height, 28 inches. and 25% for weight- 16lbs 12 oz.
He is a "calorie burner" as his pediatrician calls him, and that he is.
Today at daycare he drank two 8 ounce bottles.
I don't make nearly enough milk for that!
He still nurses every time he sees me, hungry or not and he loves it. I still haven't tried to introduce milk back into my diet, I am thinking at 8 or 9 months I will try to see how it goes. He drinks some gentlease formula once a day or so.
He has 5 teeth. He loves to stick out his tongue. He loves electronic cords and he is crawling. We have yet to baby proof the home so that has been quite the adventure. His crawling is still a little clumsy so he sometimes face plants, but nothing a little laughing from Cara won't fix.
He is sleeping through the night still and for the past 3 nights I haven't pumped in the middle of the night, which means I have slept through the night for 3 nights! Wahoo!
He hates bananas and peas. Rice cereal is his favorite. He will shake with excitement if he knows that he is getting some for dinner. Other foods he likes too, but nothing compared to rice cereal. Weird. I know. Absolutely no flavor.  He likes goldfish, puffs, and basically anything else we will put in his mouth.
He refuses to hold his own bottle.
He has some mild eczema.
His hair is starting to grow in and it can actually get a little messy.
He does fine in his car seat.
He loves baths and splashing in the water.

Mini me

Oh this girl reminds me of me.
Her obsession of horses is still there, however, it is slowly being replaced by an obsession with dogs! She pretends to be a puppy most days of the week. She is usually a beagle named Rue.

She also told me for her birthday she wants a dog collar from auntie madeline. I might need to make a special request for a unicorn or horse ribbon on the collar... custom etsy listing please!?

This picture of Ryann with our friend's new puppy sums up one of the best moments ever for her. (Currently her favorite)

The poor girl sort of knows the dog thing won't happen at our house, but she can dream, right?

6th Month Dr Visit

Mac went to his 6 month appointment yesterday and my handsome mr is doing great. Getting his 5th tooth, got 4 shots, still in the 25th % for weight and he is in the 90th% for height.
He has a little eczema around his eyes but she told us how top take care of that. She said that can be a problem with babies who rub their eyes a lot. Seriously? This kid is sleeping from 6 to at least 630 every night. Hopefully he keeps this up and has "Wagner sleep genes." (If you don't know what that is you probably shouldn't be reading this blog... jk.... We can sleep anytime and anywhere)
Keep up the good work growing Mr. MAC!

Magic tree house

A few months ago I was talking to my aunt Susan who is a first grade teacher. I told her I was reading the Harry potter books to Ryann and Cara. She looked at me for a minute and asked me if I had ever thought about reading them age appropriate, non scary books.... ummmmm.... no.... Who doesn't love Harry potter? Maybe little girls who don't want to read about giant snakes and spiders and killing unicorns!  Anyway, I asked for a recommendation and she said The Magic Tree House was a great series of books.

I ordered the first 4 and we read through them and the girls love them. Now we are on the 7th book and I just looked it up, but there is over 50 books! Yikes.

Thanks to my wonderful aunt for the great suggestion.
