Cara's first haircut (this year)

Her first haircut by someone other than auntie Devyn!!!

She got her hair thinned too which is a relief for us all- cause this girl has HAIR!!  I guess she takes after her mama. 

Dancing

I always find Cara dancing around random places with Shelby. It is pretty cute

Crazy hair day

The girls had crazy hair day at school Friday and they sure had fun!

Big sister

What kind of fun would it be if we couldn't dress up our little sister with pretty pretty princess jewels. Cara snagged this picture and I have been so busy I haven't had time to take many pictures so I didn't get an after shot. 

Shelby was a good sport through it all. 

Countdown

Not much longer until we meet this baby on the outside!!

Cara wanted to take a picture with me and then a picture with the baby. 

This was also a pose of her own creation. 

Her hair is getting a lot of bleached out strands from all the swimming we are doing. She likes it but makes me reassure her that the red hair won't all go away. I sure love my pretty girl. 

Little artists

I realized I had a Mac overload the past few days.  So now on to my other children. 

They made some bookmarks at the school library this week. 

Cara enjoys paining her face with whatever fruit she can find. This variety happened to be cherry. 

Stuffed animals

Rich put the girls to bed and told them to go to sleep. I came to check on them and this is what I found. 2 cute girls with about a thousand stuffed animals surrounding them. Can you find them?

Bike bike bike

Cara learned how to ride her bike on Wednesday. So naturally she wants to ride her bike to school everyday since then. She can't use her breaks or start peddling without help. So this makes it quite difficult. 

The first day I had to park every twenty feet and help her start again.  This morning I just ran along side of her to help her. 

2nd lost tooth

Cara let me pull her tooth out tonight!

Rough life

Both of these kiddos were grumpy pants today. I couldn't help but laugh because we were outside in the gorgeous weather  on a gorgeous lawn with snacks and everything in the world in front of them. 

Plus it was Friday. You can't cry on Fridays. 

Crazy hat day

Caralicious

My cute cara Kay has had some rough days due to daylight savings time. I think we are back to normal, but we'll see. 

On Tuesday night we went for tacos at the taco truck. She ate 4. More than Ryann!

She also told me she doesn't like the name cara and wants to be called ,"CK" or "Caralicious"   

Then today in class I saw her picture of goldilocks with freckles all over her nose... Just like cara. 

Man this girl is awesome. 

Car wash helper

Yes cara washed the car with a bedpan on her head. 

She was a great helper 

Purple

Every day in school the kids get a level based on their behavior. Purple is the best for kindergarten, then green, yellow, and red. Ryann always gets green, but Cara is all over the place. She had gotten red 2 times in the past week.in order to fix this I talked with her teacher so we could figure out how to encourage her to want to be good.

Turns out dessert is the key! Red is no dessert or tv. Yellow is no dessert but tv limited. Green is dessert and tv. Purple is take you out for dessert.

It is working! Purple yesterday and green today. We are off to a good start. We celebrated with dessert before dinner.

Another lost lost tooth

My little Cara Kay woke me up at 530 this morning to tell me that her tooth fell out.

I congratulated her, told her to go back to her room, and to not wake up Mac or me again.

At 536 she was back in my room, "it's an emergency!" I jumped up, ran to her room, when she told me she lost (couldn't find) her tooth.

Ugh. Flash back to Ryann doing this exact same thing multiple times. These kids and their teeth.

I went back to bed after I promised to find her tooth in an hour. Which. I. did. At 645am.

Classroom help

I was able to work in Cara's classroom today and I love to see how well she is leaving to read! These kids get so big so fast.

California winter

We had a couple cold days this week and then it seems to warm up nicely after school.

These pictures show you how different my girls are. Seriously...Ryann would wear shorts every day if I let her. Cara, on the other hand likes to bundle up.

Hard work, big rewards

The girls "helped" my dad cut down a huge limb from a giant tree in our yard that fell down yesterday. He chopped it up with the chain saw and they helped to drag it and stack the wood. After they finished my dad took them on a ride down the hill with the Christmas tree.

Thanks so much to my awesome dad for getting these girls out of the house today! Not only did they have fun, but they worked hard (ish).

As sick as

Just now I asked Cara if she was better. She said, "almost. I am just a tiny bit sick. Like this sick. Like as sick as those little bugs that can get in your hair but you can't see."

You mean like lice? I ask

"Sure"

Sometimes

Sometimes we just need a nap, on the floor, while watching a movie, with your brother screaming, sister playing, and dad working on the couch.
