Bird Foot

We went over to a friend's house tonight to have some homemade ice cream and to catch up. Halfway through the night the dad walks in the house and says,
"Hey Ryann and Cara, do you want to see what I found outside?"
Yes, a bird leg/foot.  Disgusting. I immediately got out the soap and hand sanitizer, but boy those girls thought it was awesome.

Thanks Darryl.

1 Week

There is one week left  before Ryann starts kindergarten. We have yet to find out the bus schedule, who her teacher is, if Rich will be able to pick her up or if she will need to go to the after school program, and so much more!~
All I know is that this girl is a lot more ready than her mama.
We went school supply shopping, picked out a new lunch box (that we may bring back), and are scouring local stores for a backpack that has a unicorn and a rainbow on it.

If you find a backpack with a unicorn or a rainbow on it, buy it, ship it to me and I will pay you back, because this little girl has her heart set on it.

I told her it may take awhile. Like when she is 16 or so.

Exhausted

I have attended 12 births since Thursday morning.

Rich has been my rockstar. Never complaining that I haven't been home. He has had adventures with the girls as well as cleaned the house, did dishes, entertained them and the list goes on. I sure love him.

Thanks for taking the girls out today so I could catch up on some sleep.

Now I am off to bed again.

Instagram

I am a huge fan of the Instagram app on my phone. Hands down the best thing about my cell phone.
(there are not a lot of good things about my cell phone)

Rainbow Nails

The girls requested fingernail and toenail polish the other day.  Instead of one color, we get multicolored.
Ryann is all about rainbows, and Cara is all about Ryann, so there you go.

They are still pretty happy campers even a few days after.

Wake Up Call

I am often called away in the middle of the night for a birth. On the weekends Rich is really good to me and lets me sleep in when this happens.
However, Cara is not as nice, she snuck in the bedroom, set up pretty pretty princess and when she woke me up to play it was too cute to not have Rich take a picture of us. I think she won, but I was too tired to tell if she was cheating or not.

Flooded

Ryann is a little older, and much more responsible than Cara. Ryann would NEVER let the water in the bathtub get this high. She would yell and turn it off. She would let me know that I forgot about it.

Cara however...
was loving her little swimming pool.
I guess I am a bad mommy for not checking on her enough, but fortunately the tub is built with a little drain that isn't supposed to let it go over the top.  Hopefully I won't be testing that feature any time soon.

Painting Project

Ryann and Cara had a very brightly colored room at our old house. Ryann has been asking for things on her wall for quite some time now. She just keeps taping more and more pictures on the walls.
I started searching Pinterest and found some inspiration.

I then went to goodwill and bought 8 picture frames for $15.
I started sanding and Ryann and I started painting. We have only painted 5 so far. 3 red, 2 light blue, but we are working on the other ones. Then we will hang them and post our finished project in the next couple weeks or so.
I am hoping to get it done before school starts for her, so that she can hang her school work on the wall when she is proud of it.

Decorations

The girls were playing amazingly well in my room while I was getting ready for the day. They kept talking about decorations. They wanted to decorate something special for me.

Thankfully I don't have a lot of jewelry, because this would have taken a long time to clean up!

Look at how proud they are of their creation.

The End

I have a few more Aspen Grove pictures to post, but I am too tired to post anymore. I feel like it was so long ago that we were there. It has been good getting back into the routine of things. I just need to start getting Ryann ready to start Kindergarten in a few weeks!

Speaking of Ryann, she made me take these pictures from some trees on our vacation.
Tomorrow I will post Ryann and my latest project for her bedroom.  Super excited about it!

Ryann Paige in Pictures

My sweet RyRy. She loves her horses.
Running through the tunnel she says, "Mom, don't look at anything, don't look at the spiderwebs."
 Riding the pretend horse.
 Riding a donkey?
Chasing butterflies. She was obsessed with trying to catch one. She actually caught a moth and tried to keep it as a pet. It didn't last very long when she tried to give it a drink and it went down the drain. So sad.
Climbing the rock wall in her bare feet.
 Pumping water.
 My little lovely girl.

Cara Kay in pictures

Basically this sums up Cara's trip to Aspen Grove.
Tomorrow I will post Ryann's trip.
Cara was adventurous, determined, and always saying, "take a picture of me mom!"

Fishing

One thing I remember about Aspen Grove as a child is catching a fish. The fish pond is for kids under 12. You check out a fishing pole at the camp store and they hand you a piece of cheese to try and fish with.  When I caught a fish with my dad I am sure we used worms or something better than cheese.
Anyway, the girls didn't seem to care. They wanted to fish and they wanted to reel it in. They didn't think any of this sitting and waiting stuff was very fun.
Cara wanted help, so I basically sat there and would cast the line and she would reel it back in.
Over and over and over and over and over again.
Fortunately we only fished for like 20 minutes and then packed up and headed back up to camp for lunch.
I don't know if the girls would have known what to do if we had even caught a fish.  I do know they would have made their grandpa proud.

Best Friend.

Sorry this video is sideways, not sure how to fix it as it cam from my phone.

This cute little girl drives me crazy sometimes, but thankfully she is cute, right?

Hair Cut

Ryann has asked a few times to get her hair cut. I always tell her when Auntie Devyn can do it.
So we get up with Auntie Devyn and Ryann asks to get her hair cut. I tell Devyn to trim it and Ryann says that she wants it cut short.
 Like really short.
Then everyone looks at me.
So I ask Ryann if she is sure, then I encourage her to maybe just cut a little bit, or maybe just to her shoulders, but she says no. She points to the exact spot where she wants it cut.
This girl is serious, and I really don't care much about how long or short her hair is, so I told Devyn to listen to her.

There she goes. My long haired Ryann now has short hair for kindergarten!
She is thrilled with her decision and still a week later likes to look at herself in the mirror.
Thanks Auntie Devyn!  Ryann and I have been discussing how she is going to pay you for the haircut. She is thinking about drawing you a picture or making you a book. We will see what she comes up with next.

Hiking the Y

I took a lot of pictures of the girls as we took our first family hike up Y mountain in Provo.  This was actually the very first time I hiked it. I realized that I started BYU as a freshman 10 years ago!  Wow.

 Cute sisters
Cara carried around 2 chapsticks that she kept calling her "lipsticks" and she carried them up and down the mountain.

Happy Hiking!
