Big boy bed

My little Mac is sleeping in his big boy bed for the first time tonight. He was not happy with me at first but we said a prayer and then I bribed him with a new train and batteries tomorrow if he sleeps in it.
I think it helped that he didn't get a nap today.

Come home soon!

Okay so rich gets home tonight so I have been on full blown survival mode these past few days. Here is Mac eating candy corn at target in his pajamas.
My dinner last night was snap peas and hummus.
And I am living for nap time! However, that has been cut short lately because I have to wake up the kids in order to pick up the big girls from school. Also my back is still hurting so I can't carry the kids as much as normal so I Am so thankful for my double jogging stroller. It has been a lifesaver.

Toothless

I don't know if a kid has cried more than this girl over a tooth not falling out. It has been loose for over a week and she has stayed up until 10pm wiggling it, asking everyone to pull it out, dental floss, tears, prayers, and finally demanding that a dentist pull it out.
We went to our friend's house last night and finally a dentist pulled it out. Thanks to the Perez family!
I really wish it would have came out before school picture day because she couldn't stop playing with her tooth while taking pictures. But they will still be cute. And if not... There is always retakes. 😜

Too early to babysit

It amazes me how much these big girls can step up to the plate when rich is out of town. My back has been really bothering me lately and today I asked if they could watch Shelby for awhile how o stretched and tried to become functional again. 2 different times I caught them being quite hilarious with her.

First Ryann has decided she likes putting Shelby on her shoulders.
And second I caught Cara showing Shelby pictures. This one I heard her telling Shelby, "this is your daddy". I couldn't stop laughing it was hilarious.
These girls fight and try my patience daily, but man oh man they are sure a blessing in my life and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Party time

We like to party during the day here at our new house. Which translates to watching tv while mom nurses and then takes a ton of pictures while Shelby is super smiley.

She stops smiling when she sees the camera though. So I don't get much straight on shots of her.

School carnival

I helped volunteer at the school carnival this year. Wow. A hot day, a baby strapped to me, and a husband still at home unpacking (thank goodness he had Mac with him) makes for a very long carnival. I successfully avoided eating every single cake walk donation item! So I call that a win.
However, I did take a few cookies home and munch on them at home later.
I think the kids had a blast and what a neat way to support our school.

Moving day

We did it! After 14 months at my parents house we moved out. Hopefully my hospital credentials go through soon so I can start working so we can pay for it!!  Not really, but yes really.
We are still waiting to see when we can check on our storage until to see if anything. Or everything. Survived. We have been so lucky to be able to have so many generous people get things for us that we need. We have a dresser coming today. We got a crib and a changing table, a gorgeous kitchen table and so much more.

More pictures to come.

Packin' Mac

Packing with a 2 year old and an almost 2 month old is not for the faint of heart. Even when it isn't very much stuff to pack!!
Yes. Popcorn and cupcakes and Netflix are essential. As well as the dress code of a diaper only. Poor guy. The only routine is his nap because I depend on it to get anything done.

First night

This little nugget had her first night sleeping entirely in her bassinet. She went to be at 7 and woke up 3 times until 9 am when she got up for the day. Prior to this she had spent part or all of each night sleeping with me. She is 7 weeks.
She does sleep on her tummy and with blankets. But hey, you do what you gotta do to survive the newborn stage.

Big brother love

So these past 3 days have been quite crazy for us emotionally. On Friday we found out that rich's cousins and aunt and uncle lost their home in a fire. Then a huge fire broke out near our storage unit and we found out this morning that our storage unit was right in the line of fire.
We have no idea what this means. We do know we can't get up there right now, but apparently the units are still standing (they are concrete and metal) but who knows if everything is smoke damaged or melted.

We are moving into our new rental house on Friday and we have no idea if this will be an easy move of a couple boxes or if we will be able to moved everything out of storage or not.

We are so thankful that we aren't living in hidden valley lake right now though.

And this picture is of When Mac decided to let Shelby play with his train while she was nursing. Very thoughtful of him.

3 peas in a pod

I snapped this cute picture before church today. Can you believe I made it to church on time??

Oh the places you'll go

Little miss Shelby had a fun time on the girls trip. Basically she is a cute little traveler who lives to be in the carrier.
She saw the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sh saw the lands end hike and the baths and the ocean.
We played at Dolores park.
She enjoyed the ambiance of a fancy Italian dinner.
She liked the Capitola pier and dock
We went all over and while she hated the car rides, she liked being all around the girls!

Santa Cruz

Some of my girlfriends planned a trip to Santa Cruz his weekend and my husband was sweet enough to give his blessing and let Shelby and I go.
Shelby liked the beach. She basically slept and nursed. My new lularoe shirt works great for nursing at the beach. She was totally covered. No sunburn for Shelby!
We then stopped for ice cream. It was huge and amazing. Topped with toasted marshmallow. Delicious.

Siesta time

Here are some cute pictures of miss Shelby while we were in Chicago. She had her first pedicure and took a couple siestas.

Double stroller

I have been jogging lately with my new (to me) double stroller. It is so nice but I am so slow when I jog. Another problem is that the handle bar is slightly too low so I get kind of bad posture and it is hurting my lower back. But I am researching ways to fix that (since I don't see myself leaving 2 kids at home anytime soon)
Anyway, today we ran with auntie ashley and Shelby finally fell asleep. I asked Mac if she was asleep and he turned over to her and started tickling her!
Cute boy. But I needed to remind him we don't tickle people who are asleep.

Best buddies

Last Friday grandpa great came to my rescue. He helped me with some errands that were short enough to want to leave my kids in the car, but long enough that I couldn't leave them alone. Hence, great (as Mac calls him) to the rescue. He rode along with me and say with the kids in the car.

Then we went to Ryann's assembly and he helped so much with Mac. It was nice that he had a bag of candy corn to keep Mac happy, but both of them enjoyed it a lot.

So really who lets their 2 year old eat a bag of candy corn?  This mom does if it means he will sit quietly with his great grandpa for 45 minutes!

Kindness

My Ryann got an award at school for being kind.
She is a very kind girl and we are so proud of her and for this recognition. Mom, dad, grandma, grandpa great, am and Shelby all came to cheer for her.

Blessing day

Yesterday was a great day as rich was able to bless our sweet baby girl. She was peaceful and calm and beautiful even though I forgot her pretty bow.
But I was just thinking how impressive it was that we made it to church almost on time. (Right after the opening prayer!)

Busy Saturday

I didn't get many pictures from the busy Saturday we had yesterday, but I snapped these two gems at the pool with Cory and Katie and ashley.

Mac actually went willingly into he water and enjoyed it!!! Breakthroughs people.

Tourist

Little Shelby is quite the tourist this trip. Stand donuts, riding the L train, going downtown, millennial park and taking a picture with the bean, and oh so much more.
Okay fine. She just sleeps through all of it. She is a dream baby. And why wouldn't she be? I never put her down. Yikes.
Pardon my grungy mess. It is super hot and humid today.
