Hard work, big rewards

The girls "helped" my dad cut down a huge limb from a giant tree in our yard that fell down yesterday. He chopped it up with the chain saw and they helped to drag it and stack the wood. After they finished my dad took them on a ride down the hill with the Christmas tree.

Thanks so much to my awesome dad for getting these girls out of the house today! Not only did they have fun, but they worked hard (ish).

1 more week

When kids in our church turn 18 months they get to go to nursery. I have one more week with this kiddo then he gets to go play!

He is usually really good at church, but this Sunday was super hard because he hadn't slept well from the road trip back to Napa. So in an act of desperation I threw his toys outside and let him play. He had a blast.

Train park

Whenever we come back to Phoenix we tend to do things we have never done before. Like today we went to the train park. The kids loved it and Mac was in little boy heaven.

Merry Christmas eve

Yesterday we made cookies and acted out the Christmas story and overall had a great day with family.

Santa

It was about time I found a Santa for our girls to go visit.
Both girls told him they wanted an ipod. Hopefully he pulls through, but I doubt it.

Christmas party

Today we got to have a good lesson on how to say thank you after someone gives you a gift. Ryann has it down, but Cara kept saying, "are there any more presents?" Yeah. We are working on that.

However, it was a blast at our friend's Christmas party. We ate good food, enjoyed conversation, and the kids played like crazy.

As sick as

Just now I asked Cara if she was better. She said, "almost. I am just a tiny bit sick. Like this sick. Like as sick as those little bugs that can get in your hair but you can't see."

You mean like lice? I ask

"Sure"

Sickies

This past week Mac had a runny nose and a little cough. Yesterday I started with a cold... today it turned into a chest cough and yuckiness. So I decided to skip the family color run 5k. I made rich take Ryann and Cara, but it was freezing cold and little miss Cara now has a fever and her brain hurts (headache). So sad.

I gave her Tylenol about 30 minutes ago and she just passed out on the couch. After taking a 2 hour nap today too. Poor baby.

Hopefully it will skip rich and Ryann and we will all be healthy for our trip to Arizona next week. (And healthy for when auntie Erin gets here!)

This little guy is saying so many words now. Here is a little list, but I am sure there are more.

Red
Green
Orange

He also likes to copy or mimic almost anything we say. He loves to babble and hardly ever is he really quiet. I guess he fits right in with the rest of us.

Putting up the lights

We finally have our tee decorated with help from these cuties. I think we only lost one ornament in the process. Much better than years past. Hopefully we cab glue it back together though. We'll see.

911

As I dropped these two cuties off at school today I realized that they ate growing up, but they still need me so much.

For example, yesterday a fire chief came to the school to teach then about fire safety. This is great until Cara devices she needs to practice dialing 911 from home... you know, so she doesn't forget the number.

Well, both girls got scared and decided not to tell rich and I that they did it. Fast forward a few minutes later and up drives a police officer.

As soon as Cara sees him she bursts into tears and grabs me. She is holding on for dear life and is begging me in my ear to not let her go to jail.

My poor baby. The police officer spoke to the girls and went on his way. I had to promise Cara not to talk about it in front of her, and I do think she learned her lesson, and she is okay now. But these little girls are such stinkers.

Preparing for Bethlehem

My parents took the kids to help set up the church parking lot for this week's night in Bethlehem. They had a blast and were pretty fun little helpers.

I think mostly they played in mud puddles and bugged the missionaries, but they did help a little.

Sometimes

Sometimes we just need a nap, on the floor, while watching a movie, with your brother screaming, sister playing, and dad working on the couch.

Thanksgiving 2014

This year we had a wonderful thanksgiving with family. Cory deep fried a turkey, we read thanksgiving books, ate off grandma's fancy dishes, used the silver silverwear, had 3/4 off a pie for each adult, whipped cream mustaches, and lots of fun.

Turkey bowl

We played Turkey bowl yesterday morning and had a blast. I even got on a few plays, but with kids and the whole back and forth thing I didn't get any actual action shots. Mac was soaking wet by the time we were done because of the wet grass and playground equipment. But he sure had fun.

Watching the workers

Every week Mac likes to watch the men who work in the yard. He holds perfectly still and sits in awe.

I've heard people say their boots so things like this... but seriously it is amazing.

Sorry he doesn't have any pants on. This is the life.

Jedi training

Rich's childhood fantasy came true In Disneyland. Both Ryann and Cara were chosen for the Jedi training. They had a blast and Mac obviously wasn't impressed.
