5 Months Old

Yeah baby Mac! You still love to suck your thumb. 

You love to smile and laugh and play with your sisters.

Your weight gain has slowed down, now the 25-50%

Your hair is coming in fuzzy now, not exactly sure what color it will be yet.

 You are doing well eating solid foods. Rice cereal is definitely your favorite with bananas in second place.

 So far you hate sweet potatoes and avocados make you spit up.

Hopefully both of those things will change

 You still haven't slept through the night, but last night you did only wake up once! I keep getting my hopes up but then the next night you will wake up three times and dash all my hopes for sleeping through the night without making you cry it out. 

He is doing a lot of scooting backwards, rolling, trying to sit up, and spending time in his jumper. 

He usually falls asleep around 630 or 7pm, but it is hard to keep a good schedule with our crazy busy lives.

We love you Mac a doodle doo!

Checkers at Grandma's

One would think that since Rich is so good at Chess he would naturally be good at checkers.

 Right?

 Well, maybe there were some distractions and maybe his ugly movember moustache got in the way, but what can I say??  "I AM THE MASTER AT CHECKERS!!"

 Not really, I only played him once and I won, so I stopped there lest I be humiliated in the next game. 

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for the fun house with all the fun toys (like floor size, giant checkers)!

Wedding Dress Shopping

 While we were in California we went wedding dress shopping for my sister Erin. 

(She is the one sitting next to me on the couch.)

We had so much fun and no boys were allowed... except Mac.

He did really well in the city and was a happy baby. He was the happiest when we found Erin's dress!  Wahoo... spoiler... it isn't the one behind us with the crazy ruffle below the boobs. 

It was sad that we were missing my older sister Ashley, but she was there in spirit. Also not pictured was my mom, but we sure had fun with her too.

Santa Baby

Today my little Santa Baby went to his "4" month check up. His weight % is now in the 25-50%.

The pediatrician says he is a "calorie burner" which basically means this kid is always moving and she isn't worried that his growth is slowing. 

He took his shots like a champ. Cried for 5 seconds and then sucked his thumb.

 He took great naps, like he did last time he had his shots, but then tonight we had to give him tylenol because he just squirmed and sort of cried off and on for over an hour after putting him to bed. So hopefully he falls asleep soon and doesn't wake up too much for me tonight.

Gingerbread House

Cara has a sweet preschool teacher who makes 10 gingerbread houses each year, just waiting for the kids in her class to decorate the crap out of them. 

 Every year that I had kids it gets easier and easier to not care what the house looks likes. Cara had a lot of fun making this house and it is so "cara" to see half eaten pieces of candy on the house. 

 I especially love that I was able to take the day off in order to spend it with her. What a sweetie and baby Mac was excellent during the decorating time as well. 

Black Friday shopping

wedid a little black Friday shopping this year. mostly without the kids,but we thought it would be fun to take them out for a little bit of fun too. 

What's happening

This is probably my favorite thing to do when I visit with my family. Well, getting my hair done, eating a lot, date nights, card games, watching cousins play together, and about a hundred other things... but you get my point. I love it here!

Eyes

Mac has blue eyes, just  like the rest of us.

However, it appears that they look different with the color of shirt that he is wearing.

(Rich's eyes do the same thing!)

 If you look close you can see his two bottom teeth.

 Just call him Dapper Dan.

And technically you could since his name is Daniel.

CARES Slip

Whenever Ryann comes home with one of these slips we do an extra special treat. This means she was caught being really good doing something. I think she has only had 2 this year.

We were pretty proud of her and how well she rides on the bus.
